Hangouts in Hawaii

One thing you will discover about Hawaii is the sheer number of sites and views to see. It never gets old because there is always something new to do.

Pearl Harbor

USS Arizona Memorial

Pearl Harbor is a must see for any first-time visitors. The line to view the USS Arizona Memorial starts early, so arrive at least an hour before the museum and memorial open up.

Pali Lookout

The Pali Lookout is a gorgeous sight to behold. Located at Nuuanu Pali State Park, this lookout is rich in history. One of the most significant battles in Hawaiian history took place here under the direction of Kamehameha I. Oahu warriors, which Kamehameha's army was battling, were driven over the cliff.

An important note to mention is that the lookout is extremely windy! Bring a light jacket and a hair band.

Haleakala

Haleakala Crater

If you ever wanted to look above the clouds, Haleakala National Park will be like nothing you ever imagined. Take a drive thousands of feet up on an inactive volcano. The elevation can be a bit daunting, but you would not want to miss the view from above the clouds. Make sure to bring a jacket or sweater because as you go up in elevation, the temperature drops. Bring comfortable shoes and go for a hike to the summit.
