Food
Cheap Eats
There are plenty of great places to eat in Hawaii and at a low cost. In fact, many of these places feature local cuisine that can provide you with a real taste of Hawaiian culture.
Fred's Mexican Cafe
This place was hands down my favorite food in Hawaii. Fred's is located in on the island of Maui in Kihei. It has a bit of a laidback, college atmosphere. The greatest part about Fred's is their Taco-Licious Tuesdays, which is when you can get the greatest tacos you will ever eat for $2 to $3 and cheap drink specials. You have to try the carnitas taco. You will not regret stopping for dinner here.
Genki Sushi
Awesome sushi at a super cheap price. Genki Sushi originated in Japan and is famous for starting the conveyor belt sushi bar. I cannot forget to mention hot items like the miso soup and teriyaki chicken are equally tasty.
Maui Tacos
Granted Maui Tacos is a chain restaurant, but you can come to its birthplace and enjoy a burrito or taco with Mexican and Hawaiian flair. They have so many salsas to choose from, you will not know which to pick.
Dinner Date
If you want to spend a little extra money on that special someone, there are plenty of places to have a nice sit-down dinner in Hawaii.
Roy's Restaurant
Roy's is a four-star restaurant that originated in Honolulu. It blends European, Asian, and Pacific island flavors into a delicious combination. Expect to pay about $45 a person, but nonetheless your tastebuds will thank you.
Naupaka Terrace
Naupaka Terrace is located in the Ilihani Resort and Spa in Oahu. The restaurant, which is located poolside at the Ilihani, features contemporary island cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
